Shira Katz Scanlon, Esquire

Ms. Katz Scanlon has been practicing exclusively Matrimonial Law, in all areas, since completing her clerkship in 2010. Ms. Katz Scanlon completed a one-year clerkship with the Honorable Linda Feinberg, Assignment Judge Superior Court in Trenton, New Jersey in 2009-2010. After her clerkship, Ms. Katz Scanlon joined a law firm, where she was an associate attorney practicing family law, before becoming a shareholder of Martine & Katz Scanlon.

Ms. Katz Scanlon received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rutgers University in August 2005. She earned her Juris Doctor from the Thomas R. Kline School of Law at Drexel University in May 2009, where she graduated magna cum laude as a member of the inaugural class.

Ms. Katz Scanlon co-founded the Jewish Law Students’ Association in her first year of law school and was selected by the faculty as a member of Drexel’s Inaugural Moot Court Board. During her tenure at Drexel University, Ms. Katz Scanlon also received the Excellence in Service Award for her work with the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project, and she received the Exceptional Service Honors Pro Bono Award.

Ms. Katz Scanlon participates in the Burlington County Domestic Violence Pro Bono Clinic, where she volunteers her time to represent indigent victims of domestic violence and is an active member of the Burlington County Bar Association. Ms. Katz Scanlon maintains the commitment she forged during law school to helping underserved, urban youth communities in her capacity as Adjunct Professor and Program Coordinator for the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project at Drexel University's Thomas R. Kline School of Law

In August 2013 Ms. Katz Scanlon was named as one of the “Top Attorneys” in South Jersey in SJ Magazine for Divorce & Family Law and her photo was featured in the issue! In August 2012, Ms. Katz Scanlon was named as one of the “Top Attorneys” in South Jersey in SJ Magazine for Domestic Violence, and two months later was named an “Awesome Attorney” by South Jersey Magazine in the area of Domestic Violence law. Ms. Katz Scanlon has broad experience in all aspects of family law. She has litigated matrimonial matters in all stages and of all types, addressing all issues including custody, child support, alimony as well as domestic violence.
